JEFF LAGUEUX
Coaching Experience: Prior to his position with the Maine Mayhem, Coach Lagueux spent five seasons coaching football at Edward Little High School. Prior to that, he held coaching positions at Gray-New Gloucester High School, Poland Regional High School, and served as the Head Coach at Buckfield High School. His experience also includes coaching the Maine Machine semi-professional football team, as well as flag football with Maine Girls Flag Football. He recently completed his fourth season coaching lacrosse goalies for the Gray-New Gloucester/Poland 26ers cooperative program.
Coach Lagueux is also a dedicated Soldier Coach with Soldiers to Sidelines (STS), a national nonprofit that trains active-duty service members and veterans to become qualified coaches in youth and high school sports. A retired U.S. Army veteran, he completed 22 years of service before retiring in 2014.
Coaching Philosophy: I will never ask a player to do anything I will not do with them or haven’t done a thousand times before. I am a very hands on coach that likes to participate in drills with my athletes. I want my athletes to see me leading by example, not by fear.
Football Experience: Coach Lagueux played football for eight seasons to include two years on the Practice Squad in college, four years in High School, and two years of Youth League. Throughout his career he was an Offensive and Defensive Line specialist and long snapper.
